My passion for mid-century modern style was a gradual discovery that unfolded overtime. It began with an admiration for the clean, uncluttered lines of mid-century furniture. I was drawn towards in vintage shops and high street stores, mainly in the likes of Habitat, parts of IKEA Stockholm and local charity shops.
The more I learned about the era’s design principles - how they married form and
function, the way they emphasized simplicity and connection with nature - the more
I was drawn to it.
I found myself captivated by the stories behind each piece, the designers who broke the mould and the timeless appeal that these designs held. It wasn’t just about aesthetics; it
was the philosophy of mid-century modernism that resonated with me. It advocated for
a lifestyle that was unencumbered by excess, one that found beauty in the basics
and joy in everyday life.
As I delved deeper, I realised that lighting was the unsung hero of many mid-century
spaces. It had the power to transform a room, to set a mood, and to make a design
statement that was both subtle and impactful. This revelation was the spark that ignited
my passion for mid-century modern lighting, and it’s this passion that I now aim to share
through my business.
